General Communications, Inc. Expands Eastern Regional Office and Creates Technology Center in Manassas, VA

Manassas, VA - January 17, 2007 - Due to continued company growth and expansion, the Eastern Regional Office of General Communications, Inc. has been relocated to historic Manassas, VA. Through this relocation, the company will greatly increase its efficiency of operations by having a closer proximity to existing and potential clents, as well as consolidation of office and warehouse functions in a larger facility.

The new Technology Center is centrally located in Northern Viginia, approximately 25 miles from downtown Washington, D.C., 15 miles from the busy "I-95 Corridor", and 15 miles from the Dulles/Reston/Herndon business area, which is considered to be one of the fastest growing business districts in the region.

Dan L. Erickson, Vice-President of General Communications, Inc., is responsible for the company's operations in the Eastern United States. He states, "The establishment of our Eastern Regional Office in late 2004 has been a great boon to the expansion of General Communications. Our Government Services Division, which has been the major thrust of our efforts for the last two years, has brought us many opportunities for growth. We had simply outgrown our previous facilities! We are very excited about the new potential this move gives to our efforts. It provides us the infrastructure we need to expand into additional vertical markets to augment the growth in our government services market. It is our plan to immediately expand into new markets, such as corporate, education, healthcare, and houses of worship."

In addition to expanded warehouse and office space, the new Technology Center includes conference and meeting rooms, as well as a training room and a video production studio. The facility is also being furnished with state-of-the-art audio and video systems, which will facilitate employee and client education and training.
